Job Purpose

The role involves enhancing and executing improvements in projects and products, directing support activities during execution and in the field, aimed at fulfilling the requirements of both internal and external clients in the domain of Controls and Automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and specification of electrical and optical control systems, including sensor harnesses.
  • Approval of 3D models for electrical and optical distribution within equipment.
  • Organizing and leading Design Review meetings to gather project input and implement enhancements.
  • Presenting technical documentation related to the scope of work during client meetings.
  • Interfacing with sub-suppliers and assessing the documentation provided.
  • Potentially leading technical proposals.
  • Assisting with Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) pertaining to their area of responsibility.
  • Collaborating with planning, procurement, project management, industrial engineering, and quality sectors regarding their scope of work, including assembly and testing of final equipment.
  • Conducting electrical analyses to verify voltage drop and ensure proper sizing of topside and subsea power supply and communication systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Control and Automation, or a related field.
  • CREA certification.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Petroleum Engineering, Subsea Production Systems, or Control and Automation Engineering are advantageous.
  • Experience in engineering, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, electrical distribution systems, and subsea optics, including subsea instrumentation knowledge.
  • Understanding of subsea production systems, particularly control systems.
  • Proficiency in risk matrix and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of international standards related to subsea control systems (API17F, API6A, etc.).
  • Advanced proficiency in English.
