Job Description

Role Summary:

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. This includes ensuring the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciling subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger.
  • Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned with ability to explain purpose behind job tasks and process flow.
  • Assist in monthly accounting close process ensuring compliance in company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all assigned monthly account reconciliations, with third party documentation, where possible, to support balance sheet monthly financials.
  • Manage timely and quality delivery of multiple tasks including projects, special assignments, and administrative activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related areas.
  • 2+ years' experience in industry accounting or finance roles.
  • CRC, or other finance or accounting certification is a plus, or strong understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS standards.
  • Ability to use MS Office packages, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of using Microsoft Dynamics (D365) and the OneStream system is a plus.
  • Strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking in English and Portuguese, as well as good organisational skills.
  • Detailed-oriented with excellent ability to analyse data and circumstances and train others as needed.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines.
  • Good at working independently, thinking critically and proffering quality ideas to improving the organisation's processes.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyses information skillfully; develops alternative solutions.
