Job Opportunity

The role of Senior Global Forwarding Agent entails overseeing and executing the shipment lifecycle for intricate and strategic accounts. A key figure in global forwarding operational knowledge, this professional excels in a fast-paced environment, delivering exceptional customer service and upholding high standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Operational Excellence:
    Develop an in-depth understanding of international shipping processes, documentation, and terminology from purchase order issuance to delivery. Ensure accurate financial component input to generate correct billing for customers.
  • Execute/Coordinate Shipments:
    Book approvals, process pre-alerts, execute deliveries, ensure proper invoicing, and facilitate seamless logistics operations.
  • Create, Maintain, and Update Shipments:
    Verify accuracy of data in Navisphere and maintain precise records.
  • Provide Complex Quotes:
    Formulate quotes based on network needs and optimize pricing strategies.
  • Coach and Train Others:
    Develop pricing strategies and enhance team capabilities through training sessions.
  • Provide Track and Trace Service:
    Deliver tracking information to customers and generate shipment documents as needed.
  • Ensure Data Integrity:
    Acknowledge shipment details, INCOterms, routing, dates, documents, and verify consistency throughout the process.
  • Facilitate Relationships:
    Nurture strong relationships with customers by providing timely responses, resolving issues efficiently, and communicating effectively.
  • Additional Tasks:
    • Upkeep customer SOPs and adhere to established guidelines.
    • Recommend technology solutions to recognize efficiencies and improve net revenue.
    • Collaborate with Sales Executives and Account Managers to support customer reporting efforts.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent degree.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the Global Forwarding industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English (and Spanish for specific locations).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge or coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business.
  • Extensive industry and department knowledge, including process handling, regulations, and international shipping procedures.
  • Excellent prioritization, multi-tasking, and flexibility skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and demands.
  • Proactive, ambitious, and analytical mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to achieve 95% or higher monthly audit compliance and minimal unbillable charges.
  • Site-specific requirements include fluency in local languages and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
