Job Title: Experienced Software Professional

 

  • We are looking for a skilled software professional to join our engineering team.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, with experience in multiple programming languages and frameworks, including Python, PySpark, and Django. You should also have knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, and data governance principles.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality software solutions using Python and its frameworks.
  • Collaborate with engineers and leaders from other organizations.
  • Support product owners by understanding business requirements and helping the team break these into stories.
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback for work submitted by other engineers.
  • Mentor interns, apprentices, and other engineers.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Design and build systems to Extract, Load, and Transform data from various sources into organized information that can be easily consumed by data scientists for model-building, applications, and business analysts.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant collaborative software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years full-time engineering experience across at least two different companies.
  • Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals.
  • Expert familiarity with backend development (Python) or frontend development using a JavaScript framework.
  • Experience designing applications using a microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform.
  • Experience with relational databases.
  • Experience with data ingestion.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of Linux command line tools.
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of product development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for and interest in peer mentorship.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience working in a collaborative Agile environment.
