Truck Driver

Job Summary:

The Logistics Specialist - Truck Operations will operate assigned trucks for the delivery of finished products and the pickup of raw materials or defective products. This role requires the ability to unload and load trucks, store products and raw materials, and maintain all log books.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate assigned equipment safely in accordance with company, Department of Transportation, and OSHA safety programs and rules.
• Perform work in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
• Report quality and production concerns and issues to supervisor.
• Cross-train on all work stations within the department.
• Conduct operator-level preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
• Keep the work environment neat and clean.
• Assist in loading and unloading trailers, and with storage and placement of materials.
• Verify finished products prior to shipment.
• Prepare shipments according to approved methods.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid CDL license.
• Experience operating heavy machinery is preferred.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.

Physical Aspects/Work Environment:

This role requires regular standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and talking, hearing, and seeing. Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds is also required.

Specific Vision Abilities:

This role requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

This role is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
