We are seeking a skilled Data Center Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, planning, and operating AWS global infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have experience in data center design, engineering, and operations of infrastructure common to data centers, telecommunications facilities, and other critical environment infrastructure.
Responsibilities include conducting site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers, reviewing vendor critical infrastructure designs, and performing risk analysis and availability calculations.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented engineer to collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence standards for data center products, and guide the direction of our colocation data center portfolio.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must have:
- A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Cumulative 10+ years of experience in data center or carrier-class telecommunications design, power generation, oil & gas, aviation engineering, and/or operations and maintenance (O&M) of data center/critical environment infrastructure
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related area
- Project management professional; PMP or similar
