Dietitian - Patient Nutrition Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, a part of Dignity Health's Southern California Division. As a Clinical Nutrition Expert, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough nutrition assessments and diagnoses, considering the clinical condition, age-specific populations, and cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Identify malnutrition and other nutrition diagnoses, and update the plan of care as necessary.
- Promote a positive patient experience by maintaining effective communication with patients, staff, and guests, and providing excellent customer service.
- Support patient interactive positions and provide operational needs for these positions.
- Collaborate in maintaining regulatory compliance and infection control practices.
- Implement targeted and specific nutrition interventions based on the patient's medical condition.
- Conduct motivational interviews and provide customized nutrition education to patients and/or families and caregivers.
- Actively participate as a member of the multi-specialty interdisciplinary care team to contribute toward overall patient care.
- Collaborate in the process of menu development for patient cafeteria and catering services.
- Support in managing the facility diet manual and patient diet and nutritional compliance.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree with completion of an accredited dietitian program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics). Experience with specific patient populations may be required. Two (2) years of experience as a hospital clinical dietitian.
Licensure:
Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Current ServSafe Allergen and Food Handler Certifications.
Pay Range:
$36.96 - $53.60 /hour
