Position Overview:
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office is seeking a dedicated intern to join our Financial and Professional Services Policy team in São Paulo.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist in the formulation of policies related to financial services.
- Support the execution of key dialogues, including the Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD) and Financial Market Dialogue (FMD).
- Provide administrative assistance to the team and the Head of Financial Services.
- Engage in research initiatives to bolster your professional development and expertise.
- Contribute to meetings and collaborate on policy and regulatory initiatives.
- Opportunity to gain insights into sectors such as legal services, sustainable finance, and capital markets.
Key Duties:
- Analyze and disseminate economic data and sector information pertinent to the financial landscape.
- Draft and summarize complex financial market information for internal newsletters.
- Assist in creating market research reports and briefings.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, events, and visits.
- Manage travel arrangements, including bookings for flights and accommodations.
- Support the organization of trade missions and seminars.
- Accompany senior staff to meetings with stakeholders.
- Conduct research on regulatory and policy matters affecting financial services.
- Promote the UK’s broader economic and political objectives.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with a keen interest in financial services. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team are essential.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics, International Relations, or related fields.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese, with strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated research abilities and a commitment to quality work.
- Experience in public organizations or government relations is advantageous.
Language Proficiency:
Fluent in English and Portuguese.
