Position Purpose

The Associate Actuary will support the Chief Risk Officer and Actuarial Function in various responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly claims reserving for general ledger reporting.
• Support quarterly Board reports by providing actuarial insights and recommendations.
• Contribute to product development and rating activities, including analyzing and recommending benefit changes to existing products.
• Help manage and analyze reinsurance portfolios, ensuring optimal risk management strategies.
• Support the creation and maintenance of experience studies for insurance portfolios.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues on automation projects related to actuarial data and reports.
• Participate in audits related to actuarial estimates, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in annual rate reviews and financial planning assumptions.
• Research and suggest methods for portfolio optimization, maximizing returns while minimizing risk.
• Work closely with underwriting and other business partners as needed to achieve business objectives.
• Contribute to regulatory filings for entities in the Americas region.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
• Progress toward ASA or equivalent actuarial designation (e.g., passed 2–3 actuarial exams).
• 4+ years of actuarial experience (internships included).
• Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with VBA, SQL, R, or Python is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Spanish speaker is an advantage but not required.
