About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician to join our team at OraSure Technologies. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating equipment and performing tasks related to the assembly of medical diagnostic tests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate semi-automated and automated equipment in the production area to ensure high-quality products.
  • Perform on-line inspection of all components/parts produced, taking corrective action and making recommendations to the supervisor as needed.
  • Complete all paperwork and equipment logbooks, reviewing other operators' paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
  • Set up and shut down equipment, working closely with the maintenance department to identify maintenance and repair needs.
  • Provide cross-training to operators on all pieces of equipment in the production area.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist in the validation of equipment and provide input into development and manufacturing process improvements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of previous manufacturing/production work experience.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, as well as mathematics skills.
  • Windows-based computer skills, with familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel desirable.
  • Ability to use a calculator, balances, and measuring equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude for general maintenance of equipment.
  • Experience with GMP/ISO manufacturing operations.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, and twist.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate, adjust, and maintain automated equipment.
