Job Title: Transportation Expert

About the Role

This exciting opportunity is for an experienced Transportation Expert to partner closely with business leaders and project teams to ensure SAP Transportation Management (TM) delivers maximum business value.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of U.S. transportation/logistics processes, hands-on experience in SAP TM configuration and business processes, and a proven track record in advisory and post-implementation roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence
    • Improve transportation management through process refinement and optimization.
    • Develop and execute structured change management and communication plans.
  • Process Optimisation
    • Review and refine transportation and logistics processes to align with industry best practices.
    • Provide recommendations for freight planning, carrier collaboration, settlement, and execution.
    • Ensure integration of TM processes with wider supply chain and ERP systems.
  • Training & Knowledge Enablement
    • Deliver targeted training sessions to end users, key users, and leadership teams.
    • Produce clear documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
    • Build in-house knowledge to ensure sustainable long-term operations.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management
    • Work alongside solution architects and build teams to ensure business needs are realised.
    • Coordinate activities across business, IT, and external vendors to drive alignment.
    • Provide project reporting, milestone tracking, and KPI measurement.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify areas for system and process enhancement post go-live.
    • Proactively support issue resolution and ensure business continuity.
    • Advise on industry trends and SAP TM roadmap to keep clients future-ready.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Core SAP Expertise
  • Deep, hands-on SAP TM knowledge (configuration + business processes).
  • Proven experience in advisory and post-implementation roles with SAP TM.
  • Strong background in U.S. transportation/logistics processes.
  • Advisory & Change Management
  • Experience delivering organisational change, user adoption strategies, and training programs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Project Management
  • Ability to support client-side project governance and coordination.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex programs.
  • Additional Knowledge
  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Logistics, SAP Event Management, and EWM integration.
  • Understanding of SAP TM end-to-end, including planning, execution, settlement, and analytics.

This unique client-side advisory role requires an individual who can bridge the gap between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external providers.
