Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Lead 3D Artist to join our team and lead the creation of high-quality 3D assets for our upcoming tactical shooter game. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading teams and delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced game development environment.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Lead a team of 3D artists and provide guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers and producers to plan and estimate project workloads, define project production planning, and assist in bidding.
- Art Direction: Work with other disciplines to establish technical and aesthetic guidelines for in-game art, ensuring consistency and quality across all assets.
- Quality Control: Coordinate quality control for each deliverable, ensuring that artists respect QA pipelines and work closely with Art QA to improve quality performance.
- Client Interaction: Represent the art team in client interactions, conveying feedback and complex subjects in an organized manner.
- Process Improvement: Assist the Art Manager in art department processes, including recruitment, onboarding, basic training, and artist performance and development.
- Problem-Solving: Solve or participate in solving complex problems in a structured manner, from assessment, research, planning, and organization to execution.
- Experience: 6+ years of experience as a 3D modeler in video games, with 2+ years of experience leading teams in production.
- Skills: Solid understanding of art production pipelines in video game development and its dependencies, solid skills and experience in importing and setting 3D models and materials in-game engines, and a portfolio of work that shows excellence.
- Expertise: 3D Objects Artist (hard surface), experience with military-style, experience with weapon creation (specifically guns and accessories), experience in texture creation, and understanding of requirements related to creating realistic in-game weapons and equipment.
