Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to spearhead the management of translation projects and teams. Key responsibilities include developing best practices, training, capacity planning, and supervising team members.

This leader manages stakeholder expectations, serves as a liaison for translations providers, and supports clients directly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall translation development and proofing process, communicating issues to ensure proper resolution and quality internal and external deliverables.
  • Project Ownership: Manage all tasks related to translations work, including internal and external clients, copyright holders, and vendors.
  • Communicate with clients, CROs, and vendors regarding timelines, study requirements, and scope changes.
  • Provide support to Project Managers and Relationship Managers on translations timelines, complexities, author/copyright holder management, methodology requirements, and rollout of languages considering EC/IRB submission support and SIV rollouts.
  • Set up projects with translations providers, handing over English-US software files and screenshots, along with source files, to request costs and timeline estimates for work reflective of the study scope.
  • Offer seasoned experience for own projects and direct reports to mitigate risks and prevent escalations.
  • Advise clients on linguistic validation and EC submission strategies.
  • Manage technical issues related to translations build, testing, and release with internal Clario teams. Train vendors on technical files used to create software translations.
  • Assist in training new team members, providing SME mentorship and facilitating training based on subject need.
  • Responsible for onboarding and training of new hires, managing onboarding and assimilation activities, assessing effectiveness at 90 days post-hire, and developing a plan for key areas of focus.
  • Support sales teams and review proposals for translations, linguistic validation, and licensing procurement projects.
  • Participate in BD initiatives, consult with customers, and coach the team in providing superior customer support.
  • Develop strategic alliances, preferred vendor relationships, and operational efficiencies with select copyright holders.
  • Manage project deliverables and timelines on a per-project basis, facilitate monthly check-ins, quarterly KPI conversations, CAPA reviews, project check-ins, personnel checks, and process improvements.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, track cost follow-ups, develop document templates, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards for Good Clinical Practices.
  • Lead the department's global communication standards and participate in client and vendor audits as a departmental SME.
  • Facilitate client-facing meetings, manage overall client communication, help support EC/IRB submission requirements, direct clients on linguistic validation efforts, educate clients on copyright holder requirements, and help manage and reduce client escalations.
