Physical Therapist Job Description

A Physical Therapist evaluates, establishes, and implements treatment programs for patients of all ages referred by a physician. Supervises the staff physical therapist assistant (PTA) in the delivery of patient care. Supervises physical therapist assistants and ancillary staff with department activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates patients' needs and develops individualized treatment plans.
  • Provides direct patient care, including evaluations, treatments, and educational sessions.
  • Supervises and educates physical therapist assistants and other support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited curriculum in Physical Therapy.
  • Experience in the physical therapy profession as normally acquired through academic experience, clinical affiliations, and/or previous work experience in the field if required.
  • Licensure: Must be a licensed Physical Therapist by the state of Alabama.
