Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded software systems for leading companies.
About the Role
We are looking for a talented software engineer with experience in embedded software development using C and C++. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to develop and configure device drivers, debug and troubleshoot embedded system software and hardware, and work with various build environments and CI/CD processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software systems using C and C++
- Develop and configure device drivers for various buses such as UART, SPI, USB, PCIe, I2C, etc.
- Debug and troubleshoot embedded system software and hardware using tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers
- Work with various build environments and CI/CD processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver high-quality software systems
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree field
- Experience working in embedded software development using C and C++
- Working experience with Operating Systems such as QNX, Linux, and working with Hypervisor
- Good hands-on understanding of Linux internals (build/config/tune)
- Good experience in networking, CLI, and Python, shell scripting
- Good experience working with Yocto Linux, Docker, QEMU, etc.
- Good experience with various build environments and CI/CD processes
- Nice to have Scrum Master experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science degree from an ABET accredited university
Language
English advanced or fluent is mandatory – global project.
