About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Credit Analyst to join our team at Moody's Investors Service. As a key member of our Corporate Finance team, you will be responsible for conducting credit analysis on a dedicated portfolio of companies and transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct quantitative assessment of financial documents and economic/market data, as well as analysis of bond indentures, liquidity agreements, financial statements, and other legal documents.
  • Credit Analysis: Conduct initial and ongoing credit analysis on a dedicated portfolio of companies and transactions.
  • Portfolio Management: Actively supervise the portfolio and make recommendations for rating transitions in a timely fashion.
  • Communication: Present credits efficiently and accurately in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings, formulate a coherent credit rationale and present this rationale in a persuasive fashion.
  • Credit Judgment: Demonstrate credit rating judgment as evidenced by the ability to distinguish among entities and transactions at different credit ratings levels.
  • Research: Produce timely and relevant research on specific issuers, general credit trends, or sector-related issues that is in-depth, high quality, informative, and focused.
  • Relationship Building: Build and manage relationships with investors, advisors, and issuers.
  • Business Development: Develop Moody's Local Brazil franchise through intermediary marketing and transparency initiatives.
  • Issuer Meetings: Lead issuer meetings, including presenting key credit rating factors optimally and asking probing questions that result in substantive dialog about key credit issues.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications in economics, accounting, engineering, business administration, statistics, or actuarial science. Graduate / second-level degree (e.g., MBA, Master's) is a plus.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of experience with credit analysis primarily, passionate about corporate or infrastructure finance entities and transactions.
  • Skills: Demonstrates knowledge of Word and PowerPoint; Microsoft Excel skills are mandatory. Validated and well-developed analytical and modelling skills. Strong written and verbal communication capabilities in Portuguese and English. Ability to lead exciting priorities within deadlines. Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Preferred Skills: Python programming & Visual Basic for Applications knowledge is a plus.
