About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Farm Operations Specialist to join our team at Bowery Farming. As a key member of our farm operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and freshness of our produce, ensuring the health and safety of our crops, and contributing to the overall success of our farm operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Seed, transplant, harvest, and pack our crops to ensure timely and efficient customer shipment
- Implement and maintain a clean and organized farm environment, adhering to 5S methodology and ensuring compliance with food safety and workforce safety practices
- Collaborate with the farm team to identify and implement process improvements, driving world-class operations initiatives
- Operate and maintain integrated technology and operating systems to manage the farm and our crops
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills in farm operations and food safety
Requirements:
- Basic English proficiency required
- Ability to work full-time (average 40 hours per week) on a rotating shift schedule
- Ability to work in a cold climate-controlled environment (around 35°F)
- Ability to practice safe work habits in a food-safe environment at all times
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic, able to take direction and implement changes quickly
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
- Must be at least 18 years old
