Job Description

As a seasoned data professional, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our company's data infrastructure. Your expertise will be instrumental in building and optimizing our data warehouse, ensuring that it is scalable, efficient, and meets the needs of our users.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow. This will involve developing data models across the Medallion Architecture layers to support analytics and reporting, as well as optimizing SQL queries for large datasets in AWS Athena and other relational systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow.
  • Developing data models across the Medallion Architecture layers to support analytics and reporting.
  • Optimizing SQL queries for large datasets in AWS Athena and other relational systems.
  • Building and maintaining dashboards and BI workflows using Metabase.
  • Collaborating with Product, Operations, and Analytics teams to define startup metrics and KPIs.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
  • Strong SQL expertise with experience tuning queries and designing efficient schemas.
  • Hands-on experience with Airflow for workflow orchestration.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, especially Athena, S3, and Glue.
  • Experience building analytics dashboards with Metabase or similar BI tools.
  • Understanding of Medallion Architecture and layered data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of startup/product metrics and how to translate them into analytics workflows.
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering and ETL tasks.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally with product and business teams.
