Research Scientist (Beamline Specialist) Position

Main Responsibilities

As a Research Scientist (Beamline Specialist) at CNPEM, you will be responsible for developing research projects on topics involving the determination of the structure of small molecules by crystallography. This will include preparing suitable samples for the diffraction experiment, processing and analyzing structural data, and providing scientific support in the MANACÁ beamline user program.

Key Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Physics, Engineering, or a related field, as well as a PhD in Science, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related area. You should have knowledge of X-ray diffraction and solid experience in small molecule crystallography, including data processing and analysis of crystallographic structures.

Desirable Skills

It would be beneficial to have experience with organic synthesis and analysis, scientific instrumentation, and basics of programming in Python and Linux. Additionally, experience with crystallography of macromolecules and other techniques that use synchrotron light would be an asset.
