Senior Embedded HW Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Embedded Hardware Developer to join our multidisciplinary development environment. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in the design and development of innovative products for our Controls & Automation product line.

• Hardware Requirements Definition: Collaborate with system architects, software architects, and product owners to define hardware requirements.
• Embedded Hardware Design: Design and develop embedded hardware circuits, PCBAs, FPGA modules, including component selection, schematic drawing, PCB layout, and prototype building.
• Functional Verification: Conduct functional verification of embedded hardware circuits, PCBAs, FPGA modules, electronic sub-assemblies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with systems architects, mechanical designers, PCB layout, manufacturing, reliability, and software engineering teams to design and develop embedded hardware products.
• Test and Verification Procedures: Create test and verification procedures and write test reports on functional, environmental, system operation mode, and manufacturing testing of custom embedded hardware designs.

• Digital Electronic Design: Expertise in digital electronic design including high-speed, serial communication interfaces (CAN, RSXXX, I2C, SPI, USB), control, processor, network interface design on SoC platforms.
• Extended Knowledge: Extended understanding of Central Processing Units, microcontrollers, embedded software, and signal processing techniques.
• VHDL and FPGA Design: Advanced knowledge of VHDL and FPGA design and verification methodologies.
• Design Tools: Experience of LT SPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, Python, and Intel (Altera) Quartus.
• Programming Languages: Knowledge of C, C++, assembly language or other embedded software languages.
• Schematic Design: Schematic design and PCB layout using ECAD tools like Altium Designer or equivalent.
• Lab Instruments: Experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, communication analyzers, signal generators, and simulators.
• PCB Layout: Expertise in PCB layout for optimal component placement, reduced stray inductance/capacitance, improved manufacturability, and EMC compliance.
• DFX Requirements: Experience in embedded hardware design optimized for DFX requirements (manufacturability and testability).
• EMC Requirements: Understanding of EMC requirements and CE certification relevant to embedded controller design in control system applications.
• Safety and Reliability Standards: Knowledge and experience of safety and reliability standards including IEC61508.

• Education: BSc, MSc, or PhD in electronics, automation, cybernetics, or a related engineering field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of industrial experience in relevant embedded hardware development and industrialization.
• Critical Thinking: Ability to approach complex problems structurally.
