Job Description

Early childhood specialists play a vital role in supporting our kindergarten students from 1 to 5 years old.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the children's physical and emotional well-being, while also promoting their cognitive development.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide support to teachers and teaching assistants in activities related to feeding and cleaning Kindergarten children;
  • Assist teachers and TAs in adapting children, consoling them when they cry;
  • E nsure the children's safety in their activities, observing, guiding and interfering when necessary in order to avoid accidents;
  • Taking care of the children's personal hygiene, changing diapers and clothes, bathing them when necessary;
  • Comfort students when they are sleeping;
  • Assist the Teaching Assistants (TA) by accompanying the students to the cafeteria, serving snacks and lunch, observing the basic concepts of hygiene and food;
  • Keep the changing rooms organized and clean;
  • Inform the TAs of the need for replacement of hygiene materials by parents;
  • Carefully observe the students' attitudes and behavior in order to identify illness, informing the teacher of the situation;
  • Report to the teacher the behaviors observed in students, to keep those responsible informed;
  • Constantly check the diapers and change them whenever they are dirty;
  • Actively participate in activities proposed for students in the classroom - (singing, dancing, playing);
  • Bathe students when requested by families or teachers;
  • Assist in the potty training learning process;
  • Assist students in the tooth brushing learning process;
  • Participate in events that take place on Saturdays when requested.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree completed or in progress in Pedagogy is desirable;
  • Experience in taking care of children from 1 to 5 years old;
  • Previous experience in a school nursery will be considered an advantage;
  • Fluent and understandable Portuguese;
  • Basic English will be considered an advantage;
  • Nursery and First Aid Courses are desirable.
