About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Library Assistant to join our team at Red House International School. As a Library Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the management of our library services and collections.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of library processes and services using library science techniques.
• Support initiatives aimed at fostering the development of critical readers and well-rounded citizens.
• Organize and catalog collections, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
• Provide assistance and guidance to users on library operations, including circulation and research.
• Contribute to the development of reading programs and cultural events, promoting the importance of reading and information use.
• Ensure the preservation and conservation of collections, adhering to established standards and procedures.
• Process collections using library science techniques, including cataloging and classification.
• Research and propose new interactive media to stimulate interest in reading and learning.
• Manage the collection system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
• Conduct inventory of the collection according to defined periodicity, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues.
• Monitor loans, inform students and teachers about the need for returns, and request assistance from the administration as necessary.
• Organize collections by age group, ensuring easy access and navigation for users.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science in progress.
• Proficiency in English.
• Digital thinking, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity and ability to work in a team environment.
