About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Developer with a strong background in developing IoT applications to join our team at Franklin Electric. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based solutions for IoT applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cloud-based solutions for IoT applications, ensuring scalability, security, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality software.
  • Implement best practices for security, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for cloud architecture and implementation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing and IoT.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in cloud development, with a focus on building scalable and secure solutions for IoT devices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
  • Experience with IoT protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, or AMQP.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud-based services such as IoT Core for device management, IoT Analytics for data analysis, Lambda or Azure Functions for serverless computing, S3 or Azure Blob Storage for data storage, and DynamoDB or Cosmos DB for NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with security best practices for IoT devices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
  • Experience with security standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
  • Familiarity with cloud security services like AWS IAM (Identity and Access Management) and Azure AD (Active Directory).
  • Ability to conduct security assessments and audits of IoT applications and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with implementing secure communication protocols such as TLS/SSL for data encryption.
  • Work experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS) for detecting and mitigating security threats.
  • Ability to design and implement secure network architectures for IoT applications, including firewall configurations and network segmentation.
  • Proficiency in English communication (reading, writing, and speaking) is a prerequisite for this position.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel for extended periods as required.
