Job Title: Blasting Services Assistant

    Job Description

    The role is responsible for assisting with the delivery of blasting services to customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner. This involves working closely with other team members to perform tasks associated with loading, tying and firing blasts.

    Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the safety and protection of self, fellow employees, customers, the public and the environment.
  2. Report all unusual incidents and accidents immediately.
  3. Participate in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings.
  4. Undertake necessary training for operations, SHEC and site-specific requirements.
  5. Maintain personal training against the Orica training matrix for your role.
  6. Maintain required housekeeping standards.
  7. Notify site management of any variations in product specification, appearance or performance.
  8. Assist clients in achieving targets and maintaining production.
  9. Perform other ancillary duties including relief at other locations, consistent with level of competence as reasonably instructed by the supervisor.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    Generally up to 2 years experience is required for this role. The successful candidate will also possess technical and functional business system applications relevant to blasting services.
