Our company is seeking a skilled professional to develop high-availability backend systems for our online games. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust core services that scale effortlessly while being easy to understand and operate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop secure, performant, and resilient services for matchmaking, player data, live ops, and multiplayer experiences.
Required Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in developing and operating backend services at scale.
  • Expertise in one or more server-side development languages, preferably JVM-based (Java/Kotlin) or acceptable alternatives (C#/Golang).
  • Strong understanding of scaling distributed online systems and its impact on the player experience.
  • Familiarity with caching, database schema design, and relevant technologies.
Desired Experience:
  • Mastery of web-based protocols and implementation tradeoffs (e.g., Websockets, HTTPS).
  • Experience building fault-tolerant distributed systems adhering to security best practices.
  • Familiarity with operating systems in Linux-based environments.
  • Ability to architect Unreal Engine game code to effectively integrate with online services.
  • Contextualizing backend code with the overall desired player experience.
