Apprentice Electrician

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an Apprentice Electrician to join our team at the BHP Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for executing planned and unplanned maintenance activities within the hoisting, shafts, and underground mining environment.

• Comply with and consistently follow standards and procedures designed to enable safe and effective work every day
• Carry out unplanned and planned routine maintenance, inspections, and checks to underground equipment, or reticulation networks
• Assist in resolution of electrical / mechanical issues affecting equipment performance and availability
• Review and update maintenance schedule plans and equipment history
• Transport cable and equipment safely to job locations, and assist in the set up and installation
• Provide trade skills to perform care maintenance tasks within the mine area, to ensure overall reliability and stability
• Develop and revise operating and maintenance procedures

We are looking for an individual with a proven commitment to safety and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have:

• Completed Level 1 Electrician Education
• Experience working in a similar role with exposure to maintenance work
• Actively earning accredited apprenticeship hours
• Ability to work autonomously, or as part of a team
• Ability to confidently make decisions relating to your work, or escalate if needed
• Adaptable and responsive to change, as well as learning new information
