Chief Financial Administrator

Job Overview:

• Ensure timely execution of month-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit reports to local regulators, including CADOCs 4010, 4016, 4111, 4050, 9010, and 9011, as mandated by law.
• Develop and present financial statements for the bank and holding entities, meeting group reporting needs.
• Lead entity-wide Balance Sheet Reconciliation Process (BSRS), fostering transparency and accountability.
• Collaborate on reconciliation and GL review projects involving data analysis and spreadsheet skills.
• Calculate amounts and raise relevant general ledger journals for specific accounts, ensuring adherence to financial regulations.
• Provide comprehensive financial and regulatory reporting to the group as required, upholding high standards of quality and timeliness.
• Participate in projects aimed at automating and streamlining month-end process areas, including offshoring initiatives.
• Understand and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and procedures applicable to assigned business conduct, guaranteeing the highest level of professionalism.
• Produce and review primary and supplementary data for group reporting, accompanied by detailed business commentary, enhancing stakeholders' understanding.
• Liaise closely with business areas and support teams, challenging numbers and obtaining necessary information to inform strategic decisions.
• Manage stakeholders and deliver ad-hoc analysis for senior management, providing valuable insights for informed decision-making.
• Contribute to local product discussions, sharing expertise and promoting effective collaboration.
• Participate in system changes and transformation projects, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
• Implement new reporting requirements, aligning with evolving business needs.
• Closely collaborate with auditors, facilitating their requests and ensuring a seamless audit experience.

Qualifications:

• Qualified accountant with IFRS and Bacen GAAP proficiency, ensuring a solid foundation in financial accounting principles.
• Demonstrate ability to understand HSBC's activities, products, processes, and systems, showcasing a deep understanding of the organization's complexities.
• Exhibit strong data analysis skills and medium to advanced Excel and database skills, facilitating efficient data manipulation and interpretation.
• Display excellent communication, time management, and prioritization skills, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of results.
• Embody self-motivation, enthusiasm, and rapid learning capability, demonstrating a growth mindset and adaptability.
• Prior experience working in an accounting role for a financial institution, leveraging knowledge and expertise in the field.
• Proficiency in English and Portuguese, enabling effective communication across diverse stakeholders.
• Accounting degree and CRC certification, serving as a testament to professional competence.
