Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team in Rio de Janeiro.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for sampling and obtain representative samples, maintaining the integrity of samples before analyzing, preparing for simple testing/analysis, conducting test/analysis, recording test/analysis results within appropriate documentation.
  • Comply with the necessary conditions for an effective and safe working environment, following incident and emergency procedures as required, maintaining an effective and safe working environment, limiting damage to persons or property in the event of an incident or emergency.
  • Identify calibration requirements for Laboratory and field test equipment, monitoring adherence to calibration requirements, calibrating equipment/aranging for calibration of equipment as required, reporting and recording calibration details within appropriate documentation.
  • Order stocks to maintain minimum levels, receiving and storing stock, including bunkering of chemicals, as required, optimizing stock usage to maintain levels at all times, issuing stock ensuring adequate levels are available for other users.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing communications, receiving and relaying oral and written messages, data, logs etc., supplying information for specific purposes/tasks, communicating with Supervisors, peers, and external parties accurately, concisely, and promptly.
  • Unplanned discharges to the environment are identified, halted where possible, and reported according to policy, procedure, and regulation, relevant PPE is used to deal with unplanned discharges using company procedures, equipment, waste, or other materials for disposal are dealt with according to the correct procedure, environmental protection and pollution control are enforced effectively with colleagues, subordinates, and subcontractors.

Requirements:

  • A qualification in Chemistry is required.
  • Two years of experience as a Laboratory Technician in the hydrocarbon processing industry (FPSO experience preferred) is required.
  • A practical understanding of Permit to Work, Mechanical Standards, and Risk Assessment is required.
  • The candidate must be medically fit with offshore International standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.
