About the Middle Mile Logistics Role

The Senior Warehouse Supervisor oversees logistics and transportation operations in the Middle Mile supply chain segment, managing goods movement between distribution centers, fulfillment centers, and other key locations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize Supply Chain Operations: Develop and implement strategies to drive efficiency and cost savings in Middle Mile logistics operations.
  • Coordinate Transportation: Work with carriers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Monitor Performance Metrics: Analyze transportation costs, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze Routes and Modes: Evaluate transportation routes, modes of transport, and delivery schedules to improve service levels and reduce lead times.
  • Implement Process Improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in Middle Mile logistics operations.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Lead a Team: Lead and mentor a team of Middle Mile logistics specialists and coordinators.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, or transportation operations, with a focus on the Middle Mile segment.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and supply chain software.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of industry best practices, transportation regulations, and market trends in Middle Mile logistics.
  • Certifications: Certification in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., CSCMP, APICS) is a plus.
  • Continuous Improvement: Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is desirable.
