Principal Machine Learning Engineer Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge machine learning systems and drive innovation in personalization and optimization.

We are looking for a highly experienced and technically visionary Principal Machine Learning Engineer to design and implement company-wide personalization architecture, solve complex technical challenges, and influence ML strategy across the company.

  • Develop and implement advanced ML architectures at scale
  • Design and deploy real-time ML systems and edge deployment solutions
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple quarters
  • Mentor senior engineers and review critical technical decisions
  • Represent the company in the external ML community

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience building ML systems with deep personalization expertise, recognized expert in ML systems, and a track record of 0→1 innovation in personalization systems.

The role requires exceptional communication skills for technical and executive audiences and the ability to influence without authority and drive consensus.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Advanced knowledge of ML architectures, real-time ML systems, multi-stakeholder marketplace optimization, online learning, and adaptive systems
  • Expertise in multiple approaches including deep learning, bandits, causal ML, and graph methods
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to drive technical vision and strategy
