Key Role in Tax Compliance

The position of Tax Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with all tax and legal obligations. This individual will work closely with multiple functions to ensure timely filings and accurate tax planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to Brazilian laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and annual tax filings, including VAT and withholding tax returns.
  • Collaborate with accounting to maintain accuracy of purchasing records.
  • Maintain a tax compliance tracker for timely filings.
  • Review agreements and contracts for proper reporting.
  • Support the monthly close process and ensure assigned tasks are completed on time.
  • Assist with annual financial statement audit preparation.
  • Research and analyze the impact of current and new tax regulations in Brazil.
  • Stay up-to-date with indirect taxes in multiple states and cities.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of internal controls.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Accounting, Tax, and International Finance Operations teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, law, or administration.
  • 5+ years of progressive consultancy, accounting, tax, or audit experience.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage timelines effectively.
  • Strong coordination and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • Highly responsible, dependable, and possessing a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • CPC or CPA equivalent preferred.
  • Public accounting firm or multi-national organization experience.
  • Prior experience in energy and/or service industries.
  • Experience working in companies that use BPO services.
  • Familiarity with TOTVS (Protheus).
