AWS Data Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Data Engineer to join our team. As a critical member of the data science team, you will be responsible for researching, building, and designing AI systems for machine learning, as well as maintaining and improving existing AI systems.

This role requires strong communication skills, as you will act as a key communicator between data scientists and those who construct and run AI systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, create, and prepare data required for modern data solutions and AI workloads.
  • Design ETLs and ELTs for data transformations.
  • Develop and manage data lake architectures.
  • Work with Apache Hadoop projects (Spark, Hive, Pig, Oozie, Airflow, etc.).
  • Integrate and test data solutions; create and document tests to meet requirements.
  • Manage Big Data environments; configure data cloud services, data access, security, and data governance.
  • Analyze and prepare data for machine learning workloads; monitor and log applications and services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in Data Engineer/Architect roles with ETL, data preparation & ingestion, data streaming.
  • At least 2 years of experience in cloud environments (AWS).
  • Knowledge of Python, R or other data processing tools.
  • Intermediate/Upper English level.
  • Experience with Apache Spark.
  • Familiarity with AWS Data services: S3, AWS Glue, Athena, SageMaker, etc.
  • Experience using DevOps tools (Git, pipelines).
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum team.
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
