Job Title: Emergency Response Specialist

  • Participate in duties of protecting life and property, as well as fire fighting/rescue operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide emergency response services to ensure adequate, proficient, and prompt response to all dispatch calls to treat injuries and minimize loss of life and damage to property.
  • Perform rescue procedures and participate in established training programs designed to provide additional experience in the area of firefighting/rescue operations.
  • Operate fire apparatus and related equipment with proficiency.
  • Clean, wash, test apparatus, hang hoses and polish vehicles.
  • Complete and submit incident response reports within specified timelines.
  • Will be required to work on designated holidays.
  • Maintain medical certification to perform job requirements.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Certifications:
  • Fellowship certifications may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
  • Fighter I and II, CPR AHA or Red Cross, Hazmat Awareness, Hazmat Operation, NREMT-Basic, Tender Driver Operator, ARFF Operator and Confine Space Rescue.
  • Public Safety Tele-communicator I & II Certification.
  • All firefighter certifications must be currently posted on DOD, IFSAC or Pro-Board Accreditation website or able to be reciprocated to DOD.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a NACI security clearance.
  • Experience:
  • At least 3-5 years' experience with an organized fire department.
  • Must possess Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access.
  • Skills:
  • Must have excellent communication and cognitive skills to handle emergency operations effectively.
  • Must have good computer skills for daily reporting requirements.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills to promote team dynamics.

Work Environment:

Hazardous and stressful conditions. Ability to work long hours, overtime, and live among fellow responders.

Physical Activities:

">

Work requires lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, sitting, and working with potential exposure to weather. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required.

PPE includes head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and published Company work rules.
