Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Food and Beverage Cost Optimizer to join our team. As a key member of the HORECA industry, this role plays a pivotal part in ensuring cost-efficiency and profitability within food and beverage operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze food and beverage costs to identify trends and discrepancies, providing actionable insights for improvement.
  • Implement cost control measures to optimize expenses while maintaining quality, ensuring seamless execution across kitchen and bar teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess portion control and recipe adherence, driving operational efficiency and minimizing waste.
  • Conduct regular cost audits and variance analysis to pinpoint areas for improvement, empowering data-driven decision making.
Inventory Management Expertise
  • Oversee inventory levels for food and beverage items, ensuring accurate tracking and optimized stock management.
  • Establish and maintain par stock levels to prevent overstocking or shortages, streamlining logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Implement inventory control systems and procedures to reduce waste and pilferage, minimizing losses and improving bottom-line performance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and pricing, securing best-value procurement agreements.
Budgeting and Forecasting Skills
  • Assist in developing annual budgets for food and beverage operations, aligning financial planning with business objectives.
  • Provide input and data for financial forecasting, helping to set realistic targets and drive informed decision making.
  • Track actual expenses against budgeted figures, identifying variances and taking corrective actions to ensure fiscal discipline.
Supplier Relationship Manager
  • Maintain strong relationships with food and beverage suppliers, fostering collaboration and trust to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts for cost-effective procurement, driving value for money.
  • Monitor the quality and consistency of incoming products, ensuring compliance with established standards.
Reporting and Documentation Specialist
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of food and beverage costs and inventory, supporting informed decision making and auditing needs.
  • Generate regular reports on cost control and inventory management for senior leadership review, facilitating transparency and accountability.
  • Communicate cost-saving opportunities and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Undertake weekly Food Flash Reports at outlets as requested by senior leaders, providing timely insights and driving action.
  • Coordinate weekly inventory checks, providing detailed reports to senior leaders, along with action plans to address discrepancies.
  • Deliver Month End Cost Reports to senior leaders, as part of the operation and finance standard operating procedures.
  • Investigate any cost-related issues and provide action plans to rectify identified problems, ensuring prompt resolution and minimized disruption.
