About the Role

We are seeking a talented Credit Risk Assessment Specialist to join our Institutional Credit Management team at Citi. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering best-in-class credit risk analysis, monitoring, and credit administration as a partner to the ICG Risk and Banking, Capital Markets, and Advisory teams.

As a key member of the ICG Risk Analysis team, you will be responsible for a portfolio of ICG Risk Relationships, owning the credit risk analysis for those relationships, and ensuring the continuous monitoring of that portfolio. This includes the production of annual reviews, quarterly reviews, and support for ad-hoc transactions and portfolio and industry reviews and stress testing.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the ICG Risk Analysis (IRAU) FIPS Credit Risk Team Lead and other team members to achieve our shared commitment to ensuring the safety and soundness of wholesale lending across ICG.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the credit and financial strength of Citi's counterparts by performing fundamental credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative factors.
  • Complete credit analysis write-up memos and final obligor risk ratings of Citi's counterparties based on independent assessment and judgment.
  • Continuously monitor the covered portfolio, including following industry trends, impacts to key relationships, and escalating potential credit issues to IRAU team leads and partners.
  • Partner with regional and industry stakeholders in BCMA and Independent Risk to implement credit assessment and monitoring standards for applicable portfolios.
  • Support ICG Risk Analysis Voice of the Employee (VOE) initiatives and travel (less than 10%).
Knowledge and Experience
  • Fundamental analytical skills, including an understanding of key financial components, such as liquidity position and leverage profile.
  • BASIC knowledge of financial statements and GAAP accounting or similar governance relating to the country of operation.
  • Basic industry research capabilities, including risk and key drivers.
  • Basic understanding of credit policy and procedures; proactive referral to resources as needed.
  • Ability to identify potential risk issues that need escalation and escalate them promptly.
