Lead User Interface Developer

Epic Games is seeking an experienced and skilled Lead User Interface (UI) Developer to join our team. As a UI expert, you will be responsible for designing and implementing intuitive and engaging user experiences across various platforms.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX Designers, UI Artists, and Engineers to deliver high-quality UI systems and features. Your expertise in game engines, programming principles, and algebraic math will enable you to create efficient and optimized UI solutions that meet the needs of millions of users worldwide.

About the Role
  • You will lead the development of UI systems, breaking down complex features into manageable widgets, structures, and classes.
  • Ensure UI assets are within memory and CPU constraints, using performance profiling tools to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with UI engineers on blueprint logic and presentation behavior, ensuring seamless interactions between code and visual elements.
  • Debug blueprints and UMG issues efficiently, leveraging various debugging techniques and tools.
Requirements
  • 3-6+ years of experience in building UI and experiences in game engines, with a strong background in game development and engine technology.
  • Proven track record of shipping updates and new features to large user bases on a regular cadence.
  • Proficiency in game engines, such as Unreal Engine 4, Unity, or custom engines, and ability to prepare game assets for deployment.
  • Strong logical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate effectively across departments.
