Elephant Caregiver Job Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate elephant caregiver to join our team at the Elephant Sanctuary Brazil. As a caregiver, you will play a vital role in the emotional and physical healing of our resident elephants.
Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in all aspects of elephant care, including but not limited to:

• Cleaning, maintenance, and husbandry of the elephant care facilities, medical care center, habitats, and all associated facilities
• All aspects of food preparation and collection, including cutting, branches, fresh grass, bamboo, cane, etc.
• All aspects of preparation of medical and dietary supplementation
• Daily monitoring, reporting, and recording of elephant and animal health and behavior
• Participation in training and veterinary care treatments

You will also be responsible for providing regular blog/social media content updates that enable us to convey to the public the daily occurrences, physical struggles, and in-depth emotional growth and challenges that the elephants experience while at sanctuary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

• A valid driver's license
• The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform other types of physical work
• The ability to work outdoors in all conditions, including rain and 100°F+ weather
• Fluent English or Portuguese language skills
