Tiktok is seeking a highly skilled Tax Planning and Compliance Lead to join our team in Brazil. As a key member of our tax function, you will be responsible for leading our tax planning and compliance efforts in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the tax team to ensure all tax returns are accurately and timely filed in compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations in Brazil.
  • Consistently monitor tax legislation changes and proposed changes to develop best-in-class strategies to adapt to and mitigate potential business risk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and tax optimization initiatives, with a focus on tax technology.
  • Develop tax strategies to ensure the company operates in a tax-efficient manner in the region.
  • Research, manage, and maintain tax incentives when applicable.
  • Provide tax advice across various product lines and jurisdictions in developing and implementing comprehensive and practical tax solutions.
  • Manage and respond to all tax inquiries and tax audits raised by tax authorities.
  • Respond to internal and external tax inquiries and assist business partners with tax advice.
  • Monitor the change and update of tax legislation and assess the impact on business.
  • Develop a strong partnership with cross-functional departments such as Legal, Accounting, and Finance to streamline business objectives.
  • Be a mentor and guide to the tax team to drive a collaborative business practice.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Previous experience managing and leading a tax team.
    • Demonstrated capability to clearly communicate tax technical issues to non-tax professionals.
    • Ability to lead complex projects while working effectively across cross-functional teams.
    • Self-motivated and with a strong sense of ownership of projects with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective interpersonal skills, including persuasive written and oral communication skills.
    • Strong command of the English language (both written and verbal).
    • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Qualified accountant or tax lawyer with proven Brazilian and/or broader LATAM tax experience.
    • Relevant tax experience in tax in a public accounting firm or reputable law firm and TMT industries.
