Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Projects Manager to oversee the successful completion of capital projects. This individual will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high degree of quality.

This role requires strong project management skills, including planning, developing, administering, and coordinating new or revised project goals and objectives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in academic and/or healthcare capital project management, with a strong understanding of project plans, budgets, and schedules.

They will also possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, administer, and coordinate new or revised project goals and objectives.
  • Manage projects to leadership-approved goals, timelines, and budgets; manage contractors to the terms of agreement.
  • Develop and schedule project work plans in accordance with specifications, objectives, and funding limitations, while overseeing daily operations.
  • Coordinate project activities through delegation of assignments to project team members and contractors.
  • Manage assembly and onboarding of project team, including partners for whom the capital project is being carried out, as well as contractors.
  • Manage project close-out and transition to normal operations, including securing all guarantees and warranties required for acceptance, and hand over of all mechanical and electrical systems training and guides.
  • Perform administrative duties as needed, including contract drafting and revision, project budget tracking and management, and managing these functions to completion through established processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary legal and regulatory requirements of a project are met, including but not limited to the obtaining of all necessary permits.
  • Ensure that all necessary move-outs and move-ins of occupants and associated materials are properly coordinated.
  • Manage, resolve, and escalate issues to leadership, as appropriate, to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage additional functions as required by a project, including but not limited to lease agreements, third-party agreements, and liaising with community and government entities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of related work experience are required. 12 years of related work experience may be substituted in lieu of educational qualifications.

Experience in academic and/or healthcare capital project management is strongly preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is desired. OSHA certification is also required.
