Overview:

The Clinical Project Coordinator is accountable for the comprehensive oversight and administration of clinical trials from initiation to completion. This role directs the technical and operational facets of projects, ensuring the successful execution of clinical studies. Collaborating with key functional area leaders, the coordinator identifies and assesses critical project issues, interprets complex data, makes informed business decisions, and ensures the implementation of effective solutions. The position requires a commitment to meeting all project deliverables in alignment with client expectations regarding time, quality, and cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs assigned studies in accordance with established timelines and quality benchmarks. Coordinates the activities of all functional departments and external vendors involved in the project. Collaborates with the team and management to formulate plans and guidelines for project execution utilizing organizational tools.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between the client and the organization, facilitating effective communication and information flow. Provides timely updates to clients, ensuring clarity on project status and fiscal matters, while interpreting protocols accurately.
  • Organizes and communicates specific tasks and priorities to team members. Appropriately delegates responsibilities and liaises with managers across functional areas to enhance team performance and resource utilization.
  • Collaborates closely with finance and legal teams to manage all financial and contractual aspects of the study, including invoice approvals and financial recognition for subcontractor services.
  • Works with the project team to establish controls ensuring alignment of resources and expenses with budgetary constraints. Assists in the development and negotiation of contract modifications as necessary.
  • Contributes to hiring, performance evaluations, training, and other leadership activities for project staff across various functions.
  • Prepares and presents at client meetings as the designated Project Manager, participating in bid defenses as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant academic/vocational qualification.
  • Extensive experience (approximately 8+ years) that equips the individual with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to fulfill the role effectively.

Skills and Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of cross-functional project management principles (Time, Quality, Cost).
  • Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Effective communication abilities, both oral and written, with proficiency in English.
  • Organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Capability to lead, empower, and mentor team members while fostering a collaborative environment.
