Senior Analyst, Embedded Software

This is a senior analyst role within the embedded software engineering team.

About the Team

The team designs, develops and coordinates development/troubleshooting or debugging of complex software programs for enhancements and new products. They perform high-level design/modeling to convert stakeholder needs into software solutions, develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, determine hardware compatibility and influence hardware design. They also develop architectural guidelines, specifications and technical standards and communicate them to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily activities in software life cycle, translate requirements into software functional specifications to product level testing, including software design, implementation and unit testing.
  • Software/firmware development in C/C++/Java over a RTOS framework.
  • Join design reviews, conduct peer reviews and provide meaningful feedback for other team members.
  • Create, document and execute unit tests. Create, document and execute white and black box software tests.
  • Document software design and implementation into standard software documentation formats.
  • Release software for validation and production.
  • Contribute on the development process from the technical design and architecture to the implementation and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or correlated area.
  • Proficiency in the C language.
  • Ability to read datasheets, software & hardware reference documents, create setups and debug hardware-related issues without supervision.
  • Fluent English is a must.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with professional software engineering practices over all aspects of software development life-cycle.
  • Experience with a variety of coding languages and paradigms.
  • Comfortable with Object-Oriented programming.
  • Understanding or exposure to IoT, WiFi, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy).
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and test.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and globally.
  • Knowledgeable of theory and use of Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience with User Interface Design patterns.
  • Critical analysis/thought to solve problems.
