Howard University seeks a Staff Psychologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing internal data collection, generating reports, and driving research initiatives.

Job Description:

The Staff Psychologist will work closely with the Executive Director to oversee all internal data collection, organize record systems, and generate reports. This position is intended to drive research as an added component to operations. Additionally, the incumbent will conduct intakes and provide crisis intervention and short-term interventions. They will also assist in developing the testing program related to administration of assessments for learning disabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide counseling and diagnostic services to clients in emotional distress.
  • Familiarity and experience with telehealth platforms.
  • Activities are a hybrid of online and in-person services.
  • Ability to work 20 hours per week with some evening hours.
  • Ability to and experience in providing predominantly short-term therapy services
  • Provides crisis intervention to clients who may be in crisis such as being suicidal or danger to self or others
  • Determines when psychiatric referrals should be made
  • Responsible for screening and interviewing of intake and same-day clients.
  • Performs outreach services involving workshops, presentations, and psychoeducational information.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience, licensed or license eligible.
