Senior Backend Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. As a senior backend engineer, you will contribute to the migration of a Ruby on Rails monolith to Go-based microservices in a global software platform that powers collaboration for millions of developers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deploy new features for the Go-based authorization microservice.
  • Migrate authorization logic from the Ruby on Rails monolith into new, independent services.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure the authorization platform is easy to integrate and meets their needs.
  • Contribute to the health and maintenance of backend infrastructure and custom libraries.
  • Participate in daily standups, weekly sprint planning, and Friday demos.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 7+ years of professional backend software development experience.
  • Significant hands-on experience with Go (Golang), including idioms and best practices (5+ years in production).
  • Proficiency with Ruby on Rails for working with and migrating legacy logic.
  • Experience with MySQL or other relational databases.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work proactively.
About this Role

This role involves building new services, maintaining existing ones, and ensuring seamless and secure permission flows. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying new features for the Go-based authorization microservice.
