A career in data engineering involves working with clients across the globe to improve their hybrid cloud and AI journey. As a specialist in AWS, you will work on designing, building, and operating batch and real-time data pipelines using services such as AWS Glue, EMR, Glue Catalog, and Kinesis.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, EMR, Spark (PySpark), and Python.
  • Building and operating batch and real-time data pipelines, integrating multiple sources and destinations.
  • Implementing and optimizing workflows and dataframes for high performance and reliability.
  • Migrating data using AWS DMS and managing data catalogs with Glue Catalog.
  • Developing dashboards and visualizations with AWS Quicksight.
  • Applying Data Mesh principles for distributed data architecture and governance.
  • Using open source tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Spark/Scala.
  • Ensuring data quality, security, and governance throughout the lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has proven experience with AWS Glue, Spark, PySpark, and Python, knowledge of Data Mesh and distributed data architecture, and experience with AWS Quicksight, S3, RedShift, Aurora, DynamoDB, Glue Catalog, Glue Databrew, Lambda Functions, and batch and streaming data pipelines.
