As the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), you will play a pivotal role in fostering essential interactions with Key Medical Experts, healthcare professionals, and other significant stakeholders. Your primary objective will be to convey the clinical and scientific narrative surrounding SMA within your designated region.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a reliable and knowledgeable medical/scientific authority, enhancing customer confidence in their clinical decision-making processes for optimal patient care.
- Customize discussions to deliver the most pertinent, credible, and impartial scientific information tailored to the specific needs of each customer and their patients, aligning with Biogen's clinical and medical objectives.
- Gather and relay valuable medical insights that contribute to shaping the medical and clinical strategy.
- Ensure the integration of medical insights into cross-functional account planning.
- Develop and sustain strong educational partnerships with customers, researchers, and key healthcare institutions to provide exceptional product education and medical scientific support.
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in a scientific or clinical field is essential.
- PharmD or PhD qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Portuguese and advanced English communication skills are required.
- Prior experience as a Medical Science Liaison is essential.
- Willingness to travel at least 60% of the time, including overnight trips and occasional weekend travel as necessary.
- Reports directly to the Therapeutic Area Head for SMA.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Must be based in one of the designated regions.
