Develop Open Source Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Develop Open Source Software Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with open source communities and developer-centric organizations to communicate our vision and products for better open source development experiences.
  • Contribute insight and expertise in team product meetings.
  • Maintain conversations with developer community members across various platforms.
  • Work with colleagues to establish commonality and consistent approaches.
  • Help solve technical problems identified by users or colleagues.
  • Contribute to technical documentation to meet developer users' needs.
  • Work on technical articles, presentations, or workshops.
  • Identify new opportunities and directions for improvement in the developer experience.
  • Present at conferences, meetups, or technical events.

Requirements:

  • Be a programmer or developer with a passion for and engagement in open-source software.
  • Have worked with real-world challenges developing and deploying software using Linux.
  • Have practical hands-on experience of Linux software packaging (including Snaps, debs, charms, rocks, PIP, containers).
  • Understand current software packaging issues and trends in the Linux ecosystem.
  • Have been a contributor to open-source communities, software, and documentation.
  • Be an engaging speaker and presenter.
  • Be able to work effectively in contexts with diverse perspectives, needs, and understanding.
  • Build trust, relationships, and confidence.
