Job Description
  • Support our Brazil efforts in considering, analyzing, and applying for legal subjects such as local approvals, authorizations, or licenses.
  • Drive the development and implementation of group legal strategy and contribute to the development of the organization's general business strategy.
  • Proactively identify legal problems, solutions, and potential support needed to provide more strategic support to local teams.

In this role, you will handle regulatory approvals, authorizations, and licenses including related analysis and applications. You will also assist in negotiating contracts for different business lines in the ecosystem and support various transactional and corporate governance initiatives.

You will be responsible for drafting and reviewing legal documents and providing holistic risk assessment and suggestions to enhance business value while mitigating downside risk across multiple areas of the company.

This position requires you to support the business teams in launching and developing new products and services - navigating between the commercial and regulatory worlds.

You will provide legal business partner training and counsel non-legal associates to enable stronger legal acumen across the company.

This is an opportunity to anticipate and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current laws relevant to your own substantive area to provide strategic advice and foster compliance.

Requirements
  • Qualified to practice law in a Brazil jurisdiction.
  • Between 4 to 6 years of relevant legal experience at a global law firm, and/or as a corporate counsel at a fast-paced technology company.
  • Regulatory experience with Brazilian Central Bank and Comissão de Valores Mobiliários is ideal.
  • Possesses a very strong sense of team spirit and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Possesses solid legal technical expertise as well as sound business and people judgment sense.
  • Hands-on at work and can be independent in managing complex projects.
  • Can develop relevant and creative solutions to meet current and evolving business needs.
  • Excellent legal drafting and interpretation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Portuguese.

This role offers a competitive salary of $150,000-$200,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including work-from-home arrangement, and opportunities for career growth and continuous learning in a dynamic and innovative environment.
