The ROCm Communication Collectives Library (RCCL) is a collection of scalable and efficient collective communication primitives for multi-GPU and multi-node systems, optimized for AMD GPUs. It uses PCIe and xGMI high-speed interconnects to enable fast data exchange between GPUs.

  • We are looking for a skilled Crossbar Switch Architect to lead the development of GPU communication technologies, define the technical vision and direction for the GPU communication software stack, and provide technical guidance to team members.
  • The successful candidate will engage with executives and key stakeholders to stay informed about industry trends and make recommendations on strategic initiatives.
  • The role involves collaborating with various teams, including hardware and software architects, system engineers, and business teams, to identify requirements and develop roadmaps for future products.
  • Mentoring and coaching engineers and technical leaders is also essential to foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

This position requires the ability to architect and develop communication software solutions for accelerators using RDMA and accelerator-to-accelerator fabrics, from low-level device drivers and OS internals up through applications and AI/ML frameworks.

  • Deep knowledge of distributed programming models (MPI, SHMEM), collective communication algorithms, RoCE, RDMA, and network topologies is required.
  • Experience with system software development in C/C++ and GPU software development and parallel programming is necessary.
  • A strong analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills are also essential.
