We are seeking a highly skilled Tableau Server Administrator to work remotely on a long-term basis. This individual will be responsible for setting up and configuring Tableau servers on various on-prem and cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Server Configuration: Setup and configure Tableau servers on various on-prem and cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS.
  • Upgrade and Maintenance: Experience with server upgrades and parameter changes to ensure seamless performance.
  • Data Management: Proficiency in connecting Tableau to different data sources and extracting data from these sources.
  • User Access: Manage user permissions, security, and access within Tableau environments to maintain data integrity.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot Tableau performance issues and optimize dashboards to meet business needs.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of IT experience.
  • Tableau Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Tableau Servers.
  • Architecture Knowledge: Strong understanding of Tableau architecture, including workbooks, data sources, extract refresh schedules, and server maintenance.
  • Features and Tools: Knowledge of Tableau Server features, including scheduling, content management, and server configuration.
  • Database Skills: Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) to troubleshoot data-related issues.
  • Scripting Languages: Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or batch scripting for automating administrative tasks.
  • Data Governance: Understanding of data governance concepts and experience implementing data security measures in Tableau.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to explain and understand problems effectively.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Strong stakeholder communication skills.
