Cloud Data Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Cloud Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data systems that support our business applications.

Your primary focus will be on building and optimizing cloud-based data pipelines using Apache Spark, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain monitoring solutions for Spark applications, automate data processing tasks, and contribute to the development of new features and tools.

To succeed in this role, you should have a solid understanding of distributed computing principles, basic knowledge of Apache Spark architecture, and proficiency in writing SQL queries. Additionally, you should be enthusiastic about learning AI and ML applications in data engineering tasks, as well as having experience with automation initiatives and agile development methodologies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing large-scale data systems using Apache Spark
  • Developing and maintaining monitoring solutions for Spark applications
  • Collaborating with teams to support frameworks that enable elastic scaling of workloads
  • Documenting optimization techniques and contributing to workshops to share insights with peers
  • Participating in automation initiatives and applying AI concepts to data processing tasks

Requirements include:

  • Solid understanding of distributed computing principles and their applications in data processing
  • Basic working knowledge of Apache Spark architecture and operations
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries and using DataFrames for data manipulation
  • Developing capability in troubleshooting and diagnosing runtime issues
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Spark's web UI and Grafana
  • Enthusiasm for learning AI and ML applications in data engineering tasks
